The Tonbogiri is the first original jutsu of Hansha Uchiha.

Effects[]

To utilize this technique, Hansha channels a great amount of chakra to his hand, creating a concentration of chakra that becomes visible. However, without applying nature transformation, he begins to quickly vibrate the chakra, creating a stable core of chakra inside his fingers that transmits vibrating power to the outer portion of the technique. This creates wild chakra streams coming off of the jutsu, which can deflect projectiles but more often just whip around randomly. Through a special concentration and focus, Hansha can manipulate one or two of the streams. When he uses this technique, he wields it as an enhancement to his physical prowess, utilizing it to strengthen spearhand strikes, shikan-ken fists, and other physical strikes. If he can pierce his opponent or break the skin with his Tonbogiri, the streams of chakra inside can enter the chakra network in that area, vibrating it apart in a similar manner to Naruto's Wind Release: Rasenshuriken. If it can completely enter the opponent's chakra network, it attacks the entire chakra circulatory system, which cannot be repaired by any form of medical ninjutsu whatsoever. Depending on the severity of the damage, the victim may not be able to perform a technique ever again.

Trivia[]

  • The Tonbogiri (蜻蛉切) is one of three legendary Japanese spears created by the famed swordsmith Masazane Fujiwara, said to be wielded by the daimyō Honda Tadakatsu. The spear derives its name from the myth that a dragonfly landed on its blade and was instantly cut in two.
