Hell's Seal: Formation, also known as Hell's Mark: Formation, Gedo Seal: Formation, Gedo Mark: Formation, Hell's Mark Seal: or Gedo Mark: Seal, was one of the three forbidden techniques created for Orochimaru's Hell's Seal technique, and one of the two created by Orochimaru himself, created during the Third Great Shinobi World War. It's one of the highest S Class Forbidden Jutsu ever known in Konohagakure.
This is a technique which causes extreme strain on the user's own body, mind, and Chakra in order to perform, which is one of the reasons why it became forbidden. It allows the user to wipe away the Kekkei Genkai abilities or Kekkei Tota abilities of their opponent. This includes all elemental based Kekkei Genkai abilities or Kekkei Tota abilities, or all Dojutsu based Kekkei Genkai abilities. During the time that this ability is in effect on someone, they'll experience an ungodly amount of physical pain from it, and even more so if they attempt to use the Kekkei Genkai or Kekkei Tota of theirs, and even some of the toughest Shinobi will have trouble even so much as fighting normally in this state. Although their are ways, created by Tsunade, to treat those wounded by it, the only true cure is the Hell's Seal: Release. This effect on them is the other reason why it was labeled as a forbidden technique. Although they'll technically never die from the pain if they don't use the Kekkei Genkai or Kekkei Tota, even if they were already previously wounded from a battle or whatnot, if they do attempt to, (which isn't impossible, but almost impossible), then they could, and probably would, very much die from that much strain on themselves.

- This technique is based off of the technique Gedo Mark: Seal from the video game Naruto: Ultimate Ninja 2, with the author's own added additions to it.
